  12. This may have been dealt with before, but as I am new to this group I
  13. would appreciate your help.
  14. I have a Sportster Vi 28.8 internal on a 486DX2, Win3.1; and I have
  15. tremendous problems downloading files from AOL.
  16. Log-on is usually 26400 which is not bad for a Manhattan phone line,
  17. but when it comes to downloading files it behaves as though it were at
  18. 2400 baud.
  19. I have had no luck with USR - they seem to ignore the various messages
  20. and don't want to answer, plus every suggestion AOL gives me makes no
  21. difference.
  22. Therefore could anyone here recommend some init. strings that might
  23. solve this problem.
  24. Downloading through modem is no problem - the problem seems to be
  25. peculiar to AOL.
